Description

A savory ground beef meatloaf wrapped in melted mozzarella cheese strips to resemble a mummy, finished with olive eyes for a spooky Halloween effect.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 8 oz low-moisture mozzarella cheese, sliced into strips
  • 4 black olives, sliced into rounds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and ketchup.
  3. Mix by hand until the ingredients are just combined, avoiding overworking the meat.
  4. Shape the mixture into an oblong cylinder on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Lay mozzarella cheese strips across the meatloaf in an overlapping pattern, leaving a small gap for the eyes.
  6. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F and the cheese is golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and press olive slices into the cheese gap to create the eyes.
  8. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
