  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté diced onion until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. In a large bowl, mix cooked beef with cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread half of the meat mixture in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer half of the tater tots on top.
  6. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over tater tots. Repeat layers with remaining meat mixture, tater tots, and finish with cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
