Description

Savory pork dumplings simmered in a clear, aromatic ginger and garlic broth. A comforting and healthy alternative to restaurant takeout.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Combine ground pork, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tbsp minced ginger, and 1 clove minced garlic in a bowl; stir until tacky.
  2. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of a wrapper, dampen edges, fold into a triangle, and pinch corners to seal.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat and sauté remaining ginger and garlic until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Carefully drop wontons into the broth and cook until they float to the surface (about 3-5 minutes).
  6. Ladle soup into bowls and garnish with sliced green onions and a drizzle of sesame oil.
