Description
A simplified, oven-roasted version of caramel apples. Thick apple slices are smothered in a rich brown butter caramel and baked until gooey and tender.

- 4 large Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced into wedges
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared pan.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and cook, stirring constantly, until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
- Stir in the brown sugar and salt, simmering for 2 minutes until blended.
- Slowly whisk in the heavy cream until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and cinnamon.
- Drizzle the caramel evenly over the apple slices on the sheet pan.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the caramel is bubbling and the apples are slightly tender.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
