- 24 Oreo cookies, crushed
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
- 1 cup water (or as directed on cake mix)
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (for cheesecake filling)
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine crushed Oreo cookies with melted butter and press into the bottom of a springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes and let cool.
- Prepare the red velvet cake mix according to package instructions adding cocoa powder, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until combined.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add sugar and sour cream; mix until blended. Add eggs one at a time until just combined.
- Pour half of the red velvet batter over the cooled crust, followed by half of the cheesecake filling. Repeat layers with remaining batters.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes or until edges are set but center jiggles slightly. Turn off the oven and leave the door ajar for one hour.
- Allow cooling completely before refrigerating for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
