- 1 lb ground chicken
- 3/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 orange (zested)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- Sliced green onions
- Chopped cilantro
- Optional chili flakes
Instructions
- In a small bowl whisk together orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and a pinch of black pepper to create the sauce.
- Heat a large skillet over medium‑high and pour in the sesame oil.
- Add the ground chicken, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
- Drain excess fat, then return the chicken to the skillet.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken, stir well, and let it simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Stir in sliced green onions and, if using, chili flakes. Continue cooking for 1 more minute.
- Plate over steamed rice or noodles, sprinkle with chopped cilantro, and serve immediately.
