Description

A savory skillet dish of ground chicken mixed with bright citrus, soy, and a hint of honey, finished with fresh herbs for a quick, delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 3/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 orange (zested)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • Sliced green onions
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Optional chili flakes

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl whisk together orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and a pinch of black pepper to create the sauce.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium‑high and pour in the sesame oil.
  3. Add the ground chicken, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
  4. Drain excess fat, then return the chicken to the skillet.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken, stir well, and let it simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  6. Stir in sliced green onions and, if using, chili flakes. Continue cooking for 1 more minute.
  7. Plate over steamed rice or noodles, sprinkle with chopped cilantro, and serve immediately.
