Rich and velvety mashed potatoes slow-cooked to tenderness and folded with nutty, toasted browned butter and heavy cream.

- 5 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- Water or chicken broth (as needed)
Instructions
- Place cubed potatoes and garlic in the slow cooker.
- Add enough water or broth to barely cover the potatoes.
- Cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until tender.
- While potatoes cook, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat until it browns and smells nutty.
- Drain the cooked potatoes from the slow cooker.
- Mash the potatoes using a hand masher or ricer.
- Stir in the browned butter and heavy cream until smooth.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
