Rich, fudgy chocolate brownies topped with edible cookie tombstones for a creepy and delicious Halloween treat.

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 12–16 rectangular vanilla cookies
- Powdered sugar for decorating
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F and line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and chocolate together until smooth.
- Stir in sugar and whisk in eggs and vanilla extract one by one.
- Gently fold in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
- Pour batter into the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan for 2 hours.
- Cut into squares and press a cookie vertically into the top of each square.
- Write 'RIP' on the cookies using powdered sugar.
